Walking: Walking indoors is good for anyone, whether they have COPD or not. The best thing with COPD is to always remain active and do the most you can with the lung function you have. 

If you get tired, just stop and rest, and then keep going. The less you do, the more out of shape you become, and the harder it is to live with copd. 

It's not a death sentence. You can live a great life with copd.

COPD: Most studies on improved exercise tollerance in pts with COPD have been done on a treadmill...Showing rapid improvement in exercise tollerance, even in oxygen dependent pts.

Depends: If otherwise healthy and following proscribed health regimen, can stay in current stage for lifetime and even improve marginally.  In a person who has stopped smoking, the primary cause for step-wise decreases in lung function is respiratory infection.  Be wary of sick contacts, practice good hygiene and get appropriate vaccines.  Good luck!

Consult your doctor: I recommend that you consult your primary care physician or pulmonologist about the specifics of drugs out there.  Speriva is a newer drug on the market. But again consult your physician.

: Key advice is to avoid tobacco or recreational drug inhalation, and certainly stay away from secondary smoke.  Genetic risks can be assessed by blood studies which your doctor can obtain.  If symptomatic, pulmonary function tests can objectify.

COPD: COPD leads to loss of elasticity in the lungs and they cannot contract easily to keep the lungs opening and closing to exchange carbon dioxide for oxygen. They begin to balloon and expand and lead to large empty shadows with flattened bottoms seen on xray. The lungs are not rounded or normal size on xray. COPD is easily diagnosed by xray.

Trouble breathing?: If you are experiencing worsening of your breathing, change in your sputum or a fever then I would see your doctor.  Otherwise try some ibuprofen and see your chiropractor for the back pain.

Varies: If a COPD patient has had previous illnesses which required IV therapy, sometimes the veins are used up and can't be used again. Some individuals simply have a lack of adequate surface veins regardless of whether they have copd.
