9/11 found solid mass 2.5 cm. ovary. 2/13 now it's 4.8 solid two part mass.  dr stated if under 5 cm they do not worry. i am 52 post menopause. ?

See below.: While there are size criteria for surgery, it's not the only one. If the cyst looks suspicious and/or labs are abnormal (ca 125) surgery may be considered. Please talk to your doctor or obtain a second opinion.

i'm 50, post-menopause, both ovaries removed, no hrt, and my dhea is 476. i have hair loss, oily skin, acne. is my dhea high? is this an adrenal issue

50 years old: Your doctor is very likely for you to have beginnings of menopause. 
Do you have a personal opinion about your doctor's treatment?
If you are not yet in menopause and feel just fine (and better) there is no apparent rush for you.
If your menopause is beginning, this would be the time to see your Gynecologist.

Possibly: Often women with one ovary will start developing menopausal symptoms such as vaginal dryness and hot flushes. But cessation of menstrual cycles usually isn't effected as much.

Get examined now: You need to be immediately examined by a GYN MD to determine if, in fact, those are your ovaries that are enlarged. Post menopausal ovaries tend to "shrink" in size and are not palpable abdominally  even in reproductive age women. Ovarian cysts and cancers are a concern.

is it possible to have menopause after a hysterectomy but still have 1 ovary and age 24?

VERY UNLIKELY, but..: After hysterectomy it is difficult to tell when menopause occurs without the cessation of periods to alert the woman. Most women 'go through' menopause in late 40's-early 50's so it would be very unlikely for you to be menopausal @ 24. Since 1 ovary was removed and one remains it is possible the remaining ovary is low functioning. Lab tests (fsh/lh) would be elevated in premature ovarian failure.

Ovarian function: As long as the ovary is functional(making hormones) then menopause cannot occur with or without hysterectomy.

Common sx: Typical hot flashes but not reliable can be supported by hormone levels fsh, lh.

: Not at all. You only need one ovary to produce adequate hormones, so having two with one just a little smaller will serve you just fine. Remember, those measurements are a 2D measurement of a 3D object, so if a little rotated during the testing, that alone could explain a little difference in size. Not to worry...

if you had your ovaries taken out when 35 and in 2001, when would expect to start menopause and how can i tell. could you just go through and not know?

Symptoms?  Testing?: Menopause is a very tricky term.  In my practice, it can be any state of hormone imbalance that occurs when ovarian function changes.  You had your ovaries removed, so some would say that day was your menopause, but it is more complicated.  If you feel different or have new symptoms, they need to be addressed no matter what the cause may be.  Would be happy to discuss with a HealthTap Prime app't.
