my sister had ovarian cancer. she did 6 quimo and dr. found liver metastasis. please, tell me the best treatments and survival rate. ?

Ovarian cancer: Treatments for this depend entirely on the time from the end of he last chemotherapy until the diagnosis of a new recurrence or progression of disease.  If it is immediately after her initial 6 chemistry after her initial debulking surgery than it is much worse than if her initial debulking followed by 6 chemos was 2-3 years ago.

Pap and ovarian CA: First just remember a Pap test is only good for finding cervical CA. It doesn't find ovarian or uterine CA. That's why ovarian CA is called the silent CA and uterine CA presents with bleeding. Your abnormal pap is not even at a level where it would be CA yet. Talk to your doctor and ask if the CA cells from the ovarian CA look like the pap.  Sounds like u have a new problem.  Hang in there!

Ovarian cancer: Tumor coatings of the liver are very frequent in ovarian cancer. They are readily ablated safely at the time of primary debulking.  Ovarian cancer can invade the liver but happens through blood-borne spread not direct invasion.

Liver enzymes: Ovarian cancer, could produce elevation of the liver enzymes for several reasons, spread to the liver, chometherapy effect, vascular congestion due to spread into the blood vessels of the abdomen. Still testing should be done for other causes of liver disease.

Sadly, not good: If ovarian cancer has spread to the liver, the long-term medical prognosis is not good at all. Make sure you or your loved one has some good personal support in place. Mu heart goes out to you.

Stage 4 Cancer: Not necessarily, but it does suggest at least inter abdominal spread, if not metastatic disease to the liver. An imaging study of the liver and abdomen can tell where it has spread.

Not good: Wide spread ovarian cancer is not curable, however, it is not feasible to provide a timeline of events that may happen. You may wish to suggest hospice care to your sister as she may be more comfortable with such care.

Better: Stage IV  ovarian cancer is a advanced stage IV   addition beyond  peritoneal cavity with 15.5 % of  5 yr life expectancy.  Debulking of the tumor will reduce the tumor burden on host   during chemo, will have better quality of life , obstructive symptoms will be relived, will enable to push to 15.5 % group. Ofcourse stage ii has much better prognosis.
