Yes, it can work.: Just as Clomiphene can stimulate the inadequately functioning ovary, it can stimulate the inadequately functioning testicle in some men. The reason for the inadequate function is key as not every male will be able to respond. An evaluation of the male is important. The other difference is that if Clomiphene is going to work for a woman, you'll know within 2 weeks. For men, it will take 3-6 months.

It depends: - Clomid (clomiphene) side effects include hot flashes, headaches, irritability, pelvic discomfort, bloating.  Much less common may include visual symptoms (if so, notify physician)

- success rate of Clomid (clomiphene) depends on a variety of factors, such as women's age, infertility diagnosis, # of previous Clomid (clomiphene) cycles, etc.

Depends: It depends on the causes of your infertility. However, I have concern about your Clomid (clomiphene) dose. It is too high, and it will have detrimental effect on your endometrium. I am afraid that you may ovulate well, but embryo may not able to implant due to thin lining. In terms of5 days injection, it is ok , but i don't think it will change the outcome that much.

i am on clomid (clomiphene) 50mg (day 3-7). age 29. what are the chances of success in first month of clomid (clomiphene). is there any chance of twins?

10+% YES: Clomid (clomiphene) increases your risk for twins to 10% (multiples less). If you ovulate on Clomid (clomiphene) there is an increased chance for pregnancy. Have intercourse day 10-17 every other day and there is a good chance you get pregnant (do an ovulation test?), is your partner in good health? Do you take folic acid? If so: good luck; if no bleeding on day 30 do a pregnancy test! if negative; call your doc!

Good rates, long tim: Fsh will usually stimulate the ovaries very well.  The concern is that too many eggs will stimulate and that is why we use a low dose protocol when not doing ivf.  The key is patience.  It may take 3-4 weeks of injections before the ovulation will occur.  If little effect the dose is increased.  Sometimes too many eggs will become mature anyway and the cycle will need to be cancelled.

Maybe not...: I wouldn't jump to Clomid (clomiphene) necessarily.  Clomid (clomiphene) is helpful if you are not ovulating because it can help you to ovulate.  If you are already ovulating on your own but still not getting pregnant there may be something else going on.  See your ob/gyn to find out and get guidance how to proceed.   Best wishes!

Don't lose hope...: pregnancy only occurs in 20% of IUI cycles, have faith and keep on trying!  Try speaking with your doctor or their nurse for encouragement if needed, infertility is tough mentally and most couples can use some extra emotional support!

IVF / ICSI is better: Congenital bilateral absence of the vas deferens means that he'll need a surgical sperm retrieval, usually pesa  or percutaneous epididymal sperm aspiration, done by a urologist. Pesa is simpler than testicular retrieval but still carries some risk of scarring/ damage. 1 pesa may yield enough sperm for 1-2 IUI attempts; ivf with icsi has a much better success rate with surgically retrieved sperm.
