Avoid Orlistat: There is no diet pill that is both safe and effective in proving long term and healthy weight loss.  You must get out of the mindset that there is some magic trick to changing weight other than changing how one eats, what one eats and how much they move with exercise.

Weight loss works when one limits their calories, makes sure most of the calories are protein and then exercise.

Only structured life style over years can help. Consulting nutritionist after medical evaluation is wise decision consider understanding carbohydrates, fats, choose wisely. Colored berries as anti oxidants, etc.

Some benefit: For the most part it would have the same effects as without diabetes.  That being said, weight loss is a huge benefit in diabetes and can dramatically improve the control and prognosis of the disease so if orlistat helps you lose weight , it can only help.  Orlistat can cause bad diarrhea and if you have a tendency for hyperglycemia use caution.  Always check with your doctor first!

However, in many situations; it is not the fat that makes you fat.  As the diet industry has attempted to limit fat, to make foods more palatable, the carb content has increased.  So sad, now foods are processed and high in sugars.

Track calories for 2 weeks. Then lower intake by 500 a day and you will get to goal eventually.  slow but sure.
