HPV: There is no test for hpv that is universal or cover all parts or tissues of the body.  Hpv 16 is one of over 100 strains of hpv.  The genital test does not cover any oral exposures. There is no oral test for hpv that is readily available.

Depends: If you have the HPV that causes genital warts then sometimes a specialist that does surgery of the throat may have to laser off the lesions.  The other HPVs that cause cervical cancer can cause throat cancer as well.  If you have a persistent throat issue see an ENT physician for evaluation.  IF trying to get rid of the HPV, use a condom even with oral to lower exposure to aid your immune system.
