: The wording in your post is confusing and question vague. Pregnancy has been documented from exposure on any day of the cycle including during menses. Tests are likely truly negative by 3 weeks after exposure but can be falsely negative early in pregnancy. From this story you might be pregnant, and the father may be either man.

Never too early!: It is never "too early" to get started with pregnancy care. If I had my way as a pediatrician,  women would start prenatal care before conception. They should certainly stop things like drinking, smoking and drugs before the fetus is exposed- in other words, before getting pregnant. You can certainly do those things now, and also start a PNV early on (like now) to prevent neural tube defects.
