Breast growths: Breast growths always require examination either from yourself or an MD if you are unsure of the following factors, 1) A growth increasing in size, shape or texture 2) Bleeding from the nipple 3.) Breast pain or ache 4). A growth affixed to the chest wall 5.) A breast growth with armpit(axillary) lumps. Please go get the "lipoma" checked out by an MD as you have two of the listed criteria.

i had a breast reduction 3 years ago i'm also currently on the implanon for 5 months my one breast on the right side is getting bigger but not painful. is it due to the implanon? could it be cancer? please help?

Probable: I plan on much more likely than breast cancer. Need to discuss with your physician as well as contact Implanon manufacturer regarding if this is known side affect and if so how it may be treated. Do not delay as treatment likely more successful if started early.

Well..: If you've had unprotected sex around the time of ovulation then yes, it could be a sign of pregnancy.  Sometimes the latter half of your cycle which has increased progesterone can cause the breast symptoms as well.  if you miss your period then take a pregnancy test.

Hormone changes: As women come nearer to menopause, there is an imbalance between estrogen and Progesterone production from the ovary, with estrogen being dominant. Estrogen effects on the breast can include breast tenderness and enlargement of the breast. A mammogram is indicated (my opinion) after the age of 50 which may help dissipate any cancer concerns.

Please See Doctor: There are a handful of different types of breast lumps that can grow; possibilities include fibrocystic changes, breast cysts, benign tumors, or even a cancer.  It takes very little time and just a few tests to sort this out--please see your gyne or primary care doctor.  If appropriate, they will refer you to a breast surgeon or breast center to sort this out.  Don't delay!

Yes, that's Depo!: Part of the "side effects" of Depo provera (medroxyprogesterone) is weight gain and if this isn't tolerable then evaluate another form of contraception in 4 weeks when the Depo wears off.

Hysterectomy: A hysterectomy is defined as removal of the uterus only. If ovaries are removed, the procedure is called a total hysterectomy and bilateral oophorectomy.  If one or both ovaries were not removed, at age 44 they are producing much more estrogen than at 34 or 24, and your breasts will react to this hormone increase. If on bcp's just prior to the hysterectomy, estrogen was much lower than now.
