HIV from sex: Heterosexual vaginal receptive intercourse is
 associated with the risk of 0.07-0.08 per vaginal sex. It means 7-8 cases of transmission for every 10,000 acts of unprotected sec with hiv positive male. These are the average risk but some factors may increase the risk such as: presence of another STD, any skin break down in genius area or during menstruation. Please get tested and use protection.

HIV testing: If the infected person's HIV is well controlled by ARVs (i.e., if virus is undetectable or low level in his or her blood), you are not at risk:  successful treatment makes a person 100% non-infectious. So discuss it with your partner; you may not need testing at all. If ARVs haven't been that effective or if uncertain, RNA test is 95% conclusive at 2 weeks, plus antibody test at 4-6 weeks for 100%

HIV Risk: This is a very concerning incident. That woman knowingly put your child in harms way and should be reported to the authorities. Talk to your pediatrician about having the baby tested for HIV and potentially starting antiretroviral treatment. Zidovudine (Retrovir) prophylaxis is recommended for most infants exposed to HIV to decrease the risk of transmission.

Body secretions: While saliva is not as infectious as blood, transmission of HIV or other diseases can occur via this route. Post-exposure prophylaxis would be the safe way to go.

: Male condoms are 90% effective in preventing transmission of HIV. That leaves a 10% transmission rate. Any exposed person should be tested for HIV, and if possible, seek Prophylactic HIV treatment from an in person Dr.

Probably at risk: If by sharing utensils you mean she uses the same utensil to eat her food IMMEDIATELY after the HIV positive person has placed food in their mouth &amp; there&#x27;s no cleaning of that utensil in between uses then, I believe she&#x27;s at risk. But if by share you mean that the same utensils are being used by everyone  BUT they&#x27;re also being cleaned &amp; dried between uses by either of them then, much less risk .

It's a good bet: "Muff" is not a common sexual term, at least not in my country. If you mean unprotected vaginal or anal sex, then of course the answer is yes: there's a good chance you'll catch HIV. Not so much from kissing or oral sex. Risk also depends on her HIV treatment, condom use, and whether you are circumcised. For sure use condoms until until you are otherwise advised by her doctors. And get tested now!
