does oil allergic exist? because sometimes when i ate oily food, i felt itchy surround my mouth? what should i do about it?

Irritant: Sounds like an irritation, as different oils are used to fry foods.

i was supposed to administer the red vit a capsule by squeezing it's oil in my mouth but i swallowed the whole capsule,is ok?is it still working?

i recently heard about a method called oil pulling that is supposed to be beneficial to one's health. does swishing coconut oil around your mouth work?

Likely not: Heard about it, but none of my patients have reported positive results. Find some research and make your decision. Better to spend your efforts on those things you know will help--- sleep proper diet and exercise, and excellent oral health. Better to eat the coconut oil in prepared foods. Good Luck.

Minimal: any ingested  oils can cause diarrhea or GI intolerance: not sure why you want to use this daily- cannot hurt but can cause side effects/

used eugenol oil couple days ago for toothache and the corners of my mouth still feel numb/tingly, is this okay?or is it possibly something else?

Accepted Answer

Both...: Could be irritation from, or allergy to, eugenol (oil of cloves).  Can also be from one of thousands of other problems.  See your dentist for 1) evaluation of your soft tissue problem  2) treatment of your infected tooth...Eugenol will not cure the infection, just mask the symptoms.  Please have infection treated before it becomes a roaring abscess.

i took krill oil for about a month and i've stopped now for close to 3 weeks because my bo was smelling like fish, but i still have that fish b/o smell and a fishy taste in my mouth. i was wondering how long does it take to go away?

Not likely: Common side effects of fish oils are gastrointestinal like nausea. They also frequently cause a fishy taste. More significantly the can lead to excessive lowering of blood sugar in diabetics and bleeding problems in patients on anticoagulants, like coumadin, (warfarin) Aspirin or plavix. No oral/dental inflammation has been reported.

Anything is possible: I have never heard of a canola oil allergy, but since it is a natural  substance an allergy is very possible?  The gum inflammation is a possible side effect of being allergic.  Best advice...Use another oil to cook with or use in your recipes.

can we  use olive oil on mouth ulcer?

Accepted Answer

Yes: New onset mouth ulcers are painful. A simple covering or oral bandage will usually be soothing to the irritated and exposed nerve endings.  Olive oil is certainly safe to use, however kenalog (triamcinolone) is an oral bandage specifically designed to stay in place on moist oral tissues.  If the ulcer does not resolve within 7 - 10 days be sure to have a professional evaluation.

my daughter has a really bad rash right below here mouth.  she is 5 but drools a lot.  we are using vitamin e oil.  any other ideas?

Keep it up: She needs the barrier over her skin. Even vaseline over the vitamin E that will stay longer will help.  Does she lick it too? If so try a & d ointment as a barrier. It is safe if she gets some in her mouth and is good for her skin.
