Yes and yes: Oils can be highly inflammatory and can cause dermal inflammation.  When acne is resolved, the inflammatory reaction usually goes away.

Wash face w a: Gentle cleanser 2x/ day.  Use oil free products on face. Avoid heavy foundations.  Don't squeeze pimples (to include black heads).  Avoid touching face (i.e.,  cradling chin in hands).Remove makeup before bed. Shower after stenous exercise.  Can use otc products (containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide). If &gt; than mild acne see dermatologist & discuss possible use of a comedone extractor.

Add tea tree oil: Not bacterial.
Apply tea tree oil in between.
If you are over weight, plan to lose weight.

Pimple appearance: The most important thing to remember is to avoid the urge to pick at your skin!  Keep your skin clean and moisturized with hyoallergenic products, and apply benzoyl peroxide as directed on the package.  A cool compress on red inflamed areas can help reduce the appearance.  Avoiding sun exposure should also help prevent scarring and discoloration.

No magic wand: Treatment of oily skin must be individualized. Benzac is one of the many brands of benzoyl peroxide preparations which do help reduce oil in some people. If you "get red really easily" you may have rosacea, which requires a whole different treatment regimen. A dermatologist can give you a precise diagnosis and a treatment regimen tailored to your individual skin.

Oily scalp: Sounds like seborrheic dermatitis.  Otc shampoos may help and if they don't, see a dermatologist.
