can you use mineral oil eye drops after prk?.. im almost 50 days post op and artificial tears make my vision clear and sharp but for only about 10 seconds.. also any ideas of any other things i could use that could make me see better during healing?

Accepted Answer

: You must direct this important question to the ophthalmologist who performed your PRK and saw you post operatively and noted the status of your eye.  Do not use any drops in your eyes that aren't ok'd by him/her.

i got oil free eye makeup remover in my eye and it burned, tried to wipe it off but i don't have a way to wash it out. is this okay?

Accepted Answer

Not a problem: These things have been tested for toxicity.  If make up remover, used constantly on the face, were a problem to the eyes the makers would be up to their ears in lawsuits.  Most of it is eliminated with the first blink and your tears will clear away the rest.

does applying almond oil , caster oil, vaseline nd cocunut oil makes eye lashes grow if not then how to make eye lashes preety and  grow naturally?

Accepted Answer

Everyone's different: Some people have longer lashes. Others have shorter lashes. There's no "natural" substance to put on the lashes or eyelids to make eyelashes grow more than they would naturally grow by themselves. If a person is wanting to try something, she can ask to try Latisse (bimatoprost) (prescription needed), which is an eyedrop medication to grow eyelashes, making them longer, thicker, and darker.

i need advice from opthalmologist
is it safe to put olive oil in eye, nothing wrong with eye,only for religious purposes?

Eye treatment ?'s: Using "olive oil" or any non-sterile oil or medication in one's eyes in general is not recommended, as infection or chemical irritation can cause damage.  See an ophthalmologist for more specific information.

i had detached retina before 4 months.now i have silicone oil in eye. vision is not bad but little wavy, blurry  and pinched in the middle. its normal for silicone oil? thank you?

Eye silicone oil: I think the only one who can tell you what is average course of this treatment is the team who did it in others like you. Discuss.

what order would you use salicylic acid serum, hylaronic acid serum, glycolic acid toner, plant derived squalene oil, moisturizer, eye cream, and spf? some for night and some for morning?

: None of these have any known health benefit. If you use them at all, the order doesn't matter.

i had retinal detachment before 4 months. now i have silicone oil in eye and new iol. vision is blurry but with +2 glasses vision is better. if silicone is clear substance why vision is blurry? thank you?

Was it burning?: You could get a nasty burn if it was hot.  But otherwise i wouldn't expect any problems.

Eye wash: While baby oil usually does not do any permanent damage to the eye, it can sting and be irritating. Flush the eye with water or eye wash for at least 15 minutes and if the eye is blurred or hurting, go to an emergency room.

cooking hot oil hit my eye lid and/or possibly my eye.should i be worried?

Accepted Answer

Severe pain: a burn injury to the eye is a very serious injury.  If the oil hit the cornea, you would have severe pain.  Get this evaluated immediately.
