im having parathyroidectomy. will surgery leave a strong odor on patient similar to tonsillectomy ?

No : Odor from tonsillectomy comes from bacteria growing in open wound in your mouth/throat.  Parathyroid surgery is performed sterilely  and there is no open wound.  No odor issue at all in my experience.

what is an esophageal diverticulum? i had a partial tonsillectomy but still have the taste and odor of tonsiliths in my throat.

A: Defect or small pouch that protrude from your esophagus that may harbor food particles that may decay. May need swallowing studies, etc, talk to your gastroenterologist.

day 8 post tonsillectomy: pain ears, jaw. foul odor, slime in mouth. no antibiotics post-op. cant eat. my dr wears a respirator to protect himself, isn't worried about infection for me? what do i do? im scared & dr isnt taking seriously?

Morning breath: Morning halitosis occurs because saliva production is reduced while we sleep, leading bacteria in the mouth to produce sulfuric compounds that build up. Brushing and flossing before going to bed may help, but morning breath is not unusual. Dental exam/ cleanin: g.Sinus infection possible,reflux possible. Discus with treating physician(tonsillectomy,Dentist,or Family doc).Floss teeth gently. Good luck.

Dryness: Dryness is the problem. Mouth breathing during sleep is very drying to the oral passage. Try not to sleep on your back. Keep a glass of water at your bedside for sipping during the night if and when you awaken.

Tonsil stones?: Without tonsils do not know how you think you have tonsil stones "deep in throat".  This sounds as if you may have an esophageal diverticulum or other collection of decaying tissue in a pocket or outpouching of tissue. See an ENT doctor and have this examined.  Good luck.
