See an MD: It would be very difficult to diagnose a fractured knee without having x-rays first. Sometimes a fracture is obvious without x-rays, but not uncommonly, patients will think they simply "bruised" a bone or "sprained" a joint when in fact they have a fracture. In other words, if you think you may have a fracture, go get it checked out!

Ice, meds, elevation: Ice, elevation, and various medications (ibuprofen, naproxen, narcotics perhaps) can help alleviate pain after a knee fracture. Have you seen an orthopaedic surgeon? Please make sure you do so your fracture can be cared for appropriately!

3 months: Typically fractures of any part of the body will take 2-3 months to heal.  The bone will continue to remodel for up to 12-18 months.  Cartilage injuries associated with fractures in the knee can take longer to heal if it is a contusion (6 months) or may not heal if the trauma was significant enough to cause cartilage cell death.  In that case, posttraumatic arthritis may occur.

Depends: This will depend on the type of fracture, degree of fracture, any open fracture or contaminated fracture and your general health and co-morbid conditons and medications.  Bone usually heals in 4-6 weeks.  It can be sooner or later.  Discuss this with your surgeon.
