Pmr doc for muscles: The obliques are chest wall muscles that assist in breathing. Strain for these can be treated by physical medicine or sports doctors easily. Generally anti inflammatories and possibly muscle relaxants will help initially. Ice pak or massage if very sore will decrease pain. After stabilization, exercises can help prevent further injuries.

Depends: There is no way to accelerate the healing. Depending on the severity of injury it may take a couple of days to a couple of weeks. 
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Abdominal strains are particularly painful since they are constantly being used to maintain your posture when standing etc. Therapist can help ease the pain, promote rapid healing and muscle function and give advice on lessening the pain

Answeredyesterday: You must be examined. You will need a chest x-ray and physicial exam. You will need antiinflammatory/pain mediciation and figure on 2-4 weeks for  this to begin: sound like a torn intercostal muscle with nerve exposure causing severe intercostal neuritis and cosochonditis.

Rest: The only answer for that type of sprain or tear is time and rest for the muscle.  When the injury first occurs ice and laying at can help minimize the pain and swelling.

works for me and a lot of other people I know.

The secret is very cold and very hot. From my point of view.

But there may be better ways.

Fall: You need to rest and you may need a muscle relaxant and an antiinflammatory, i hope they gave you some prescriptions in the er otherwise see your doctor for them. Also if it has been less than 72 hours since your fall put ice packs on the area that hurts, if more put a heating pad.
