Probably not: Most likely this is due to pressure from a shoe, or other minor injury.  But if you notice any weakness in your feet or legs, difficulty walking on your heels or toes, pain in your low back or down your leg, or worsening numbness/pain/redness, get in and see your doctor right away.  Otherwise, give it a few days of rest and loose shoes and see if it improves.

Pressure.: IT goes without saying, standing, especially for long durations or for lengths that you are not accustomed to, will be hard on the feet. Numbness in the third toe signifies the that activity is causing an irritation of a sensory nerve supplying the toe. This irritation may proceed to pain if steps are not made to accommodate it. Shoes must allow the foot to splay and not compress the forefoot.

Circulation: Test to see if standing or massage relieves the pain.  In some instances a couple of glasses of tonic water will ease the discomfort.  Otherwise look at the foot and see if there are any differences from the foot that does not get numb.

Numb toe: may be due to tight shoes or a pinch nerve. Also if you have chronic pain in your feet then have a podiatrist look at them for examination.

Numbness: Numbness in the toes can because by many different things. You could have swelling which is putting pressure on a nerve which can be causing numbness in the area. You should see your podiatrist for further evaluation.

Sciatica: Go to your doctor and have an evaluation with an emg.  It can detect if there is some nerve compression either from the back area or from the leg area.

The Mapping Game.: It is not so easy to come up with a reason for the type of numbness your having without being able to clinically examine the foot. More than likely the numbness is related to an irritation of a nerve in the foot, caused possibly by  acute or chronic pressure. Map out the areas of numbness with a marker. Take a picture of it. Wait and see if the area reduces or increases. Then decide to see a doc.

: The numbness probably caused from shoes The nerve on to of foot can be irritated with shoes. If you have laced shoes skip eyelets where areas of irritation

Left foot/toes: numbness with pain is not normal. Did you do any activities on it or injured it? Are you on your feet a lot in shoes all day? Are shoes tight? You may have a pinched nerve in the foot. I would suggest you see a podiatrist who can examine your foot and offer treatment options.
