No: Anemia itself does not cause nosebleeds. Anemia is a sign of an underlying disease.  The underlying disease which produces anemia may also cause disorders of clotting or of platelet number or activation.  Those processes may indeed cause bleeding including nosebleeds.

Unclear question: If you are anemic, it is likely due to excessive menstrual blood loss. It would be prudent to see your doctor. In the meantime you should take oral iron supplements.

Depends on the cause: Anemia is a low red blood cell (rbc) count; this can also be defined by a low hemoglobin level, which is the protein that carries oxygen in the rbc.  Anemia is either due to decreased production of rbcs (ie dietary) or increased destruction/loss (ie bleeding).  Many of these causes are treatable/curable, but require diagnosis first.

Treatable: This condition can be well treated with life-long use of B12 injections or nasal sprays and results in normalisation of the blood counts.

should i see a doctor if i have anemia?

Accepted Answer

Yes: There are many types of anemia. Some are caused by heavy menstrual periods or intestinal bleeding. Others caused by vitamin deficiency and some as a side effect of another condition. See a doctor to evaluate your blood count and what the cells look like under a microscope. You may need stool testing to see if there's blood in it or some other examination and testing. Treatment by cause ; count.

does anemia after a miscarriage go away?

If you are anemic...: For any reason, it is correctable, either through transfusion or correcting the cause of the anemia. The latter is preferable provided the patient is hemodynamically stable. If your anemia reflects blood loss following miscarriage and d&c, that blood loss was also accompanied by fe loss.  Depending on your status prior to the event, you may need fe supplement to replete stores. Good luck to you.

is methadone a cause of pernicious anemia?

No: I wish every question were this easy to answer.  Methadone treatment is a great blessing for many people.  Classic pernicious anemia is an autoimmune disease involving the stomach interfering with B12 absorption.  It is possible for a person taking Methadone to develop it, but it would be a coincidence.

Normally not: Unlikely that a simple UTI would cuss anemia, but a chronic indolent UTI could possibly cause anemia of chronic inflammation. But again this is unlikely.
