would a rhinoplasty make me more susceptible to nose bleeds? i get nosebleeds occasionally. will having a rhinoplasty increase this occurance? should i expect a few nosebleeds after the surgery?

Possible : Possible but rare. Expect no change in bleeding pattern.

That depends: If it is due to a small blood vessel in the nose it may be cauterized.

Ask your surgeon: This is such a specialized procedure that the only one who should answer your question is the surgeon who will be doing the procedure. Having said that, it is not likely that there is any packing that would resemble what is done for a nosebleed.

Possible: Depending on the anatomic predisposition to the recurrent sinus infection. Hopeful your ENT will review the CT scan with you

Nose bleeds: Best to have your daughter evaluated by an ENT and a Dentist, preferably practitioners who are part of a cleft-palate team.  If there is no cleft team in your area ask your Pediatrician for referral.  Note also that there are developmental decisions that should be addressed now by the Orthodontist and Prosthodontist on the cleft team.

Infection: We have no idea how old you are, what surgery you had, what your medical history is and why you are on Enbrel (etanercept). Any one treated with Enbrel (etanercept) is at risk for serious infections. You need to contact your doctor as soon as possible.

Frequent : Frequent nose bleeds and easy bruising with a small needle (botox) suggests "thin" blood such as we see with Aspirin or vitamin E users.  You should discuss this with your primary care doctor and have your platelet count and clotting factors checked.  This can simply be hereditary.
