Mites? : Are the "mites" moving? Have you been able to remove some &amp; examine them on a flat surface? This should be examined by your clinician for diagnosis &amp; treatment. If it is truly a parasite, you need treatment immediately so others won't also be infected. If it isn't a parasite, you will still find out what it is &amp; get cleared up. Hope that helps.

sometimes i feel like there are small things crawling in my nose! i've never seen anything when looking in the mirror. what can this be? mites? thanks

Itchy nose: it is unlikely to have mites inside the nose. You could have allergies or something else that your doctor need to check

Be a detective: What is different about that environment if that is where this occurs? Are there fumes emitted by the bed linen? Are there other airborne irritants like smoke ? You have decided it is not dust mites, which do accumulate in mattresses &amp; pillows so there must be something else.

Tea tree oil: Demodex mites are usually prevalent in areas where there are oily sebaceous glands like the face, scalp and eyelids--not so much the nose, i believe. At any rate tea tree oil is a good place to start. You might be able to get tea tree oil shampoo at your local GNC or whole foods. I do a weekly lid scrub for my patients with a strong 50% mixture in clinic for three weeks with nightly ointment

i'm allergic to dust mites and i have an ionic breeze in my room but it doesn't help. my nose runs constantly  and it gets worse when i get a cold?

Ionic breeze?: Ionic breeze has little if any effect on removing airborne allergens. Besides your exposure to house dust mite dropping is from the pillows and mattress. Thus even a high-power air cleaner will not do you much good since the particles will get to you before the air cleaner.   Get a mite-proof encasing on your pillow, mattress, box spring instead.  You may have other allergies as well.

so, i've done an allergy panel before and it said i was allergic to dust mites and cats.  i have a stuffy nose around  60% of the time.  ?

Allergies: Certainly follow your allergist's advice. Nasal cortisone, antihistamines and medications as prescribed. Immunotherapy (allergy desensitization injections) is certainly a logical consideration.

i have runny nose & congestion. but i'm not sick. could it be from the cat dander, that got blown about with the heater?  i'm allergic, but tried to put cat in other room. i have dust mite bedding.

You are  right: You shoukd also try an air purifier and look into a device called critter zone that actually degrades airborne allergens.

Virus vs. allergy: Initially, both viruses and allergies can produce similar symptoms such as clear runny nose, sneezing, watery eyes, slight cough, etc.  However, symptoms from a viral infection should resolve within 10-14 days, while allergy symptoms will linger until treated or until the allergen is removed.

nasal mites are coming from my nose, ears, and eyes.  they spread over my body. otc and herbal remedies like tea tree oil and neem oil help by preventing bite but don't remove them. i feel i am in need of a prescription. can anyone offer suggestions?

Treat longer/derm: When these infect humans treatment with such oils must continue past their breeding cycles to stop the infestation. This may take 3 months of continuous application. If this doesn't help see a dermatologist for confirmation and specific treatment.  The meds used are not commonly used in humans.
