Eradicate Staph: Often people who get painful boils inside the nose have chronic colonization and periodic infection with staphylococcus bacteria.  This is quite common and usually easy to treat.  See your pcp or a dermatologist and have the problem checked out.  Usually, what is done is to apply antibacterial ointment (mupirocin) into the nostrils for 5 days.  Good luck.

Bump on nose: Swelling on the nose lasting for 8 months should be evaluated by a doctor. Best would be a dermatologist, although you may get all the help you need from your primary care doctor.  It's not possible to say if this is concerning or not without the evaluation. Best of health.

Nose infection: Boils in the nose-- technically the nares, or opening parts of the nose are almost always due to Staph infection. Specifically that's Staphylococcus aureus which can be resistant to antibiotics (MRSA). You should limit any trauma (don't pull out nose hairs-- clip instead). Try Mupirocin ointment 3x a day for 3 to 5 days. If that doesn't help, seek help as infections of the face can be dangerous.
