Not likely: The normal range may be above 10 k, but it not likely that a high normal count is any better. See this site for more info.

the lab my dr office uses is quest diagnostic. their wbc normal range is 3.8 to 10.8. my wbc was 4.5. it seems that other labs consider below 4.0 or 4.5 low. why do other labs use different standards for low wbc then quest? which is correct? thanks.

Depends: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, there are ethnic differences in WBC and the normal range varies. If you do not have symptoms do not worry about the numbers. 40 yr female. total thyroidectomy in 2015 for graves disease and hashimoto's. 
recently my blood work indicated a thyroid peroxidase antibodies level of 11.  ths still at .01 all other thyroid levels in normal range.   wbc down to 3.4?

: I hope you're cared for by a thyroidologist or endocrinologist.  You had a very rare combination of both Graves disease which causes hyperthyroidism and Hashimoto's disease which causes hypothyroidism. Your TSH is abnormally low indicating high thyroid activity??from thyroid supplement. Both of your thyroid disorders are autoimmune disorders. A lowish wbc can be from an autoimmune process

Stop worrying: Percentages mean nothing. Only be concerned with the absolute counts, and even then remember they fluctuate wildly. If the cells all at normally firmed and the counts are anywhere near reference range, be thankful for good health.

No: There's been some interest lately in trying to quantitate the numbers of white cells around a woman's cervix.  All women have some of these, and i've formed the impression that this is primarily a research tool. I'd be more interested in knowing the results of your hpv testing, chlamydia and gonorrhea tests, whether there's any reason to think you have candida or trichomonas.

Near normal count: Lymphocyte count of 900 is just below the normal limit but is not a cause for concern. Do keep your appointment and be sure to follow your doctor's advice.

Here is the key: Eveb the absolute count need not be "in range" to relax. If neither the absolute neutrophil count or the absolute lymphocyte count is far from reference range and no abnormal cells are present, then just be glad for things being okay.
