Infant temperature: The accepted temperature for newborns who are 2 to 3 months old is below 100.4 f. Any temperature at that level and above is suspicious for a fever more often from overbundling. Anything else is suspect for an infection.

NO not normal: An infant running a "high temp" should be seen to determine the etiology.

I would recommend calling your health care provider and reporting this.

No: In infants the definition of fever is 100.4 (38C). If you have an infant under 3 months with that temperature, call your doctor or go to the ER. Beyond 3 months, call your doctor if the temperature reaches 102.2 (39C) or higher. Obviously, if your infant is vomiting, unable to arouse, or showing any other symptoms that concern you, call your doctor or go to the ER. Hope this helps!

Have her checked: True fever at her age (rectal temperature over 100.4 f) deserves evaluation. Giving antipyretics without proper evaluation is not wise.

Too fast: Viruses generally have a longer effect upon their hosts (your daughter), I do not know of one that would initiate and be shed so quickly. Perhaps it is a minor reaction to a mild virus, or just as easily be food related or environmentally induced. Take temp several ways and see, orally, basally, by ear, armpit. If she starts to really feel unwell consult with an md.

No: Pediatricians consider greater than or equal to 100.4 to be fever in a child less than one year of age.  It is important to take the temperature recatally as this will give you the most accurate body temperature location.

Monitor temp: Temp of 101 is a fever in child this age.  If fever &gt; 101 for more than 48 hrs or other concerning symptoms like lethargy, irritability, difficulty breathing then see the pediatrician.

Neither: An axillary temp of 98.4 is not be considered a fever, but axillary temps may not be as accurate as rectal. Contact your doctor if rectal temp is 100.4 or higher in an infant under 2 months before giving any Tylenol (acetaminophen).  More important is how your baby is behaving with sleep and feedings. If your infant just had a check up and shots, it is common to have slight fever and fussiness.  Then meds ok..

my baby has a slight temp and her eyes are puffy and a bit red. we gave her the min dosage of infant tylenol (acetaminophen). mother was slightly ill this week. ?

Sounds as if: your baby is also becoming ill.  Infants under the age of two months with a rectal temperature of 100.4 or higher  should be emergently evaluated and not given Tylenol (acetaminophen).  Older infants and children can be offered supportive and comfort care with pain/fever reducers until they have been evaluated by their pediatrician.

There are risks: Assisted reproductive technology increases the risk for prematurity and low birth weight (as well as other factors) mainly because of the  higher rate of twins and triplets etc.  My neonatology colleagues are kept quite bust caring for very small babies from reproductive technology. There may also be an increased risk for birth defects due to so called epigenetic effects.
