early pregnancy-im concerned about a drop in my progesterone level. dpo 12: hcg 100, progesterone 34.7 and then dpo 14: hcg 298, progesterone 27. hcg obviously looks good- but concerned about progesterone dropping. had a missed ectopic 3 months ago?

: Progesterone level can vary by the time of blood draw and lab variation.
Last level of 27 is still a good level especially HCG level continues to rise.
None of the patients with progesterone over 22 has an ectopic pregnancy.

cervix seems very sensitive during early pregnancy (4 wks). brown spotting and bleeding after sex. is a test of progesterone level needed?

No: The cervical blood vessels can be very near the surface. They are more engorged with blood and become more fragile due to the pregnancy and increased estrogen. The cervix always seems more "touchy" and cramps during pregnancy. All of this is normal. But you should be checked to make sure there is no other cause for your bleeding.

i'm 6 weeks pregnant and i have no pregnancy symptoms except tender breast/sore and my hcg beta level is 221 and my progesterone level is 28.5. are these  levels normal? am i pregnant?

Pregnant : Your tests indicate that you are pregnant but very early. I suspect your doctor will want to repeat your hormone levels  to confirm they are rising. A Progesterone greater than 25 is really good.

A little early : At 4 weeks it's a little early. Progesterone less than five is not a very good number. By 6 weeks &gt; 25 is excellent. Between 5-25 statistically doesn't mean much.

when i was not pregnant,my progesterone level on day 21 of cycle was 15.6.a month later with 4 week pregnancy,it's 5? what is wrong?

What: is your HCG level. Unfortunately, your low Prog could indicate a fetus that is not growing properly. This can mean a poss mc. Your doc will prob monitor your levels. An US will not show much as you are very early. good luck

: Ask your OB physician for an HCG quantitative test to monitor gestational progress.  If no bleeding occurs through the 8th to 12th weeks of pregnancy, the progesterone level is empirically adequate.

Want P4 higher: While it's true that the ideal peak progesterone (P4) level is 12 or above, it's still possible to get pregnant on a cycle with a P4 level of 7.5.  Your doctor should consider increasing your dose to 100mg next time.  The fact that your home pregnancy test is negative pretty much confirms that you are not pregnant.

It's great: A Progesterone of 28 is great, but your chance of pregnancy depends on your age, your Fallopian tubes, your partner's sperm and other possible medical or fertility concerns, but sounds like the Clomid (clomiphene) "worked." Good luck!

what are the success rate of dophaston for pregnancy in the patients who are trying in their first cycle, if they are not getting pregnant due to low progesterone level?

: "Duphaston" is a form of progesterone, and is used to create withdrawal bleeding, but will not induce ovulation.  Suggest seeing a reproductive endocrinologist for proper ovulation induction if attempting conception.

Advice: This is the type of question that can only be answered by your doctor.  He or she knows you, knows your reproductive history, knows your Lab Values, and can best describe whether or not you need Progesterone and if so, how much.
