Normal hymen: A normal hymen is a circle of elastic tissue around the vagina opening, like a stretchy bracelet. If you've had menstrual periods, its very likely you have a normal hymen. Normal hymens vary in how they look and its a myth that the hymen always breaks with sex; the skin usually just stretches. An MD can examine you and reassure you about your hymenal tissue if you're concerned

Hymens are different: Everyone's hymen is different, and they can change during your young adult life, without sex, just from tampons, exercises, etc. so it's difficult to say what "normal" is. Once a hymen is torn, it doesn't usually heal back the way it was, it heals in the "open" or relaxed position. Not everyone tears their hymen with sex. Sometimes it just stretches. Sometimes childbirth is the first "tearing".

Back to normal size: Women (and their body parts) usually go back to "normal size" after delivering a baby. The issue here is actually,  "What is normal size?"  What is normal after having one baby, is not the same as what was normal before having a baby.  Likewise, a NORMAL 30 year-old woman does not have the same identical features as a NORMAL 20-year-old woman.  Everyone changes over time and through events.

gyno said i have immature cells where my hymen used to be (like menopause but i'm 20). is it possible to get it removed and have it grow back normal?

Your hymen: has nothing to do with menopause. Please discuss w/your doctor and get your concerns clarified. It will not grow back.

Normal: When the hymen breaks or stretches, it can be tender.  It will improve with continued use.

That said, now that you have had intercourse, you should see your primary doctor or gynecologist for a pap smear and annual exam.

Basics: The hymen is at the entrance to the vagina &amp; not at the clitoris. Blood would be evidence of torn tissue somewhere. If at the clitoris it does not involve the hymen. I have no idea if the hymen is intact or not from the description provided.
