Yes: Unfortunately almost all bacteria are able to develop resistance to an antibiotic. Particularly when used  unnecessarily.Check with your doctor if this is a concern.

Not always.: Mrsa stands for methicillin resistant staph aureus. Methicillin is a type of penicillin. Many species of staph bacteria are resistant to some forms of penicillin, but are sensitive to methicillin. Those bacteria are not classified as mrsa. Conversely, staph species that are resistant to methicillin are nearly always resistant to all the other penicillins as well.

Maybe: If you have recurrent staph infection, it is possible that you are colonized with the bacteria or the staph was resistant to the antibiotic, ( MRSA is resistant to keflex), it may be necessary to have your doctor run a culture and sensitivity test of the bacteria.

Staph aureus: What type of infection are you trying to treat?  If these are boils they need moist heat and drainage without squeezing them.  If you have had more than one you may consider a course of nasal Mupirocin (bactroban) and bathing regularly and solely with a Chlorhexidine containing soap.  See an id doctorl.
