Maybe (not) . . .: Everyone's different. Your response to exact same dose of exact same drug may be different from your brother, sister, mother, father, friend, etc. Soma (carisoprodol) may affect your brain & balance. Yes, it is that strong for some people. Therefore, don't take 1st dose before driving, operating heavy machinery or signing documents w/grave import.

I'm afraid not: Tizanidine is the least likely to cause drowsiness (50% of people taking it get sleepy).  The trade-off is that it's less proven to help acute back pain than cyclobenzaprine which seems to make almost everyone drowsy.  Baclofen is just as bad.  I usually recommend cyclobenzaprine at the 5mg dose taken just at bedtime for those who find it overly sedating during the day. Usually short-term use only

Claritin (loratadine): Hello, I have treated many people with allergy with antihistamines. Even though they are listed as non sedating, some people react to these medications in an unexpected fashion. Sedation may still occur and if this is present, i usually recommend using this medication if needed at night before sleep. It will still work for 24 hours and may help with allergy and sleep.

Allegra (fexofenadine): In my opinion Allegra is the best non drowsy allergy medication, it works for 24 hours and is pretty powerful for mild to moderate nasal allergies.

One idea: One possibility is that "allergy related cough" is actually asthma and will respond to an asthma inhaler like albuterol
