Vasospasm: This could be a sign of vasospasm, which is when your blood vessels constrict and restrict blood flow to the area.  To help with this keep your whole body warm and breasfeed in a warm place.  As soon as a vasospasm occurs, interrupt pumping or feeding and warm your nipples for 10min with a warm cloth.  Avoiding caffeine and smoking can help.

Possible thrush: You probabely have thrush infection of your nipples
you can use over the counter anifungal cream like econozole etc and if it does not clear than consult your doctor.

?hormonal changes: There has been reported cases of hormonal fluctuations causing skin color changes, even on the nipples.  At times, this can be seen in pregnancy too. Have a check up at your Dr.'s office if they stay white.  If breast feeding, thrush in the baby to the nipple,....may cause your nipples to look white too.   Best wishes.

See your MD: You are young and both breasts are affected. This speaks against anything malignant, and I am guessing more hormonal at this point. I recommend though that you see an MD for an exam!

Trust the test: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate. They are the same tests used in a doctors office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period.  If you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection.

my nipples turned purple. are more prominent even when soft. there are veins visible in my aerolas. i had a period. not my nirmal period, very light but not classified as spotting. no cramps, no clots or tissue. is pregnancy possible?

Purple Nipples: Nipples may darken or change colors in to hormone changes during premenstrual time frame, period, pregnancy ; menopause. Consider taking a pregnancy test if your period is late.

Things to look for: yes, it likely will get better over a couple weeks.  Things to look for that might indicate a more serious problem such as infection are: redness, warmth, worsening pain, discharge, skin retraction, or a mass.  You should have a doctor examine you if you notice these things.
