Doctor can check: A primary care or ob-gyn doctor can GT all the details and check to see if there is a medical issue, if a woman has mild breast or menstrual-related symptoms. Many women have some variations with breast sensations, mucus discharge, their periods, or a missed period on occasion. Some women feel normal after a few days, but others have bothersome symptoms and follow-up with a doctor.

Nipple pain: Sounds like your nipples could just be irritated. I would try using vaseline or aquaphor for a couple of days. Have you recently started running or working out?

Colostrum: It is a excretion of the breast tissue in response to the pregnancy hormones preparing you to breast feed. Once the excretions dry, they become hard and can be gently washed off when showering. If the material looks like caked or crusted blood, please see your OB GYN MD for an examination of your breasts.

See a doctor: You're right that pregnancy is a possibility.  There are others, though, including infection, hormonal abnormality, medication side effect, mass, etc.  If it doesn't resolve, you'll want to be examined.

Nipple D/C: Discharge from nipples can be related to breastfeeding, infection, pituitary gland issues, pregnancy, fibroadenoma, intraductal papilloma or occluded milk ducts. It is usually benign. Suggest discussing with your physician.

Not reliable signs: of pregnancy. Breast tenderness is a common sign of early pregnancy; breast tenderness and/or tingling in nipples can occur in response to the normal fluctuations of hormones during the menstrual cycle.  This is also true of vaginal discharge.  If there is a chance you are pregnant, you should be taking prenatal vitamins, with at least 1 mg (1000 mcg) of Folic Acid, daily to prevent birth defects.
