how do i know if i am intolerant or allergic to nightshades? thank you

Response: There is no way to check for intolerance since this is specific to an individual and the mechanism can be many. If consuming it causes adverse effects other than allergic symptoms , then you know you are intolerant to it.   II have not heard of allergy to nightshades but one can certain be skin tested to the material  The question is why you are taking it?

No: Nightshade has  a poisonous secretion which can be serious if ingested.  But the presence of the plant, if undisturbed, is not a problem.  Probably a good idea to have the plant removed if in your yard.

Yes: Botanical: Atropa belladonna or nightshade is poisonous. The berries are reportedly sweet tasting which can make it attractive to young children. Ingestion can lead death.

Fairly: Allergy is likely rare but intolerance likely fairly common. Allergy to foods in the nightshades family in not that different from other allergy allergies  although anaphylaxis must be very rare. As for intolerance, it can be almost anything with different people having different symptoms to a certain food.

Depends: Nightshade contains alkaloids. This is found in  tobacco (nicotiana tabacum) and belladonna, also called deadly nightshade (atropa belladonna). If you don't want to take tyenol, use the safe method of convection cooling by spraying a fine mist of water over the body to lower a fever.

after eating tomatoes and peppers my eyes swell up? can i be tested for allergies to nightshade plants?

Yes you can: but history is more relevant than testing, if testing proves negative and you are still positive that specific foods cause the symptoms, then history is more reliable. 
Meanwhile, avoid whatever is causing such symptoms, and keep an antihistamine handy,and maybe an epinephrine shot,should symptoms progress  to breathing difficulty(unlikely), look 4 an allergist in ur area for evaluation, good luck

No.: You know how if you breathe a lot of helium, your voice gets all high and squeaky? The amount needed to harm either you or the baby is even higher than that needed for a voice change, so if everything sounded normal in the house, you are not even close to a harmful amount.

my 1and half year old baby cried suddenly in the night.she was holding her feet and cried hard for sometime and then slept again.was normal before day?

Poss night terrors: It is not unusual for infants of this age to have night terrors, which is a partial arrousal from a dream state.  Grabbing her feet may have been related to events in the dream, or she may truly have had a muscle cramp, etc.  If she acts normal in the morning, there is no cause for concern.  If acting ill or favoring her leg, she needs evaluation.
