Possible options: Although there are no medications for which a short course will permanently stop your periods, there are some hormonal medications which, taken on a daily basis, may prevent your period from coming.  You can discuss the options with your gynecologist and try one or more of them.

Menstrual pain ?'s: Sever pain with menstruation usually comes from endometriosis, which is spread of endometrial tissue through the lower abdomen and large intestine.  Oral bcp's will diminish the pain, and arrest the increase in endometriosis if taken continuously for several packs. These "implants" of endometrial tissue inside the abdomen cause bleeding which is a strong irritatant intraperitoneally= pain.

ma wife took postinor2 after unprotected sex on the third day after her menstruation. again she took it the next day after unprotected sex. in each case, she took the two tablet at a spot instead of taken it at 12 hours interval. please, will it work?

: Postinor 2 is an emergency contraceptive to prevent implantation of the fertilized embryo. The first pill is taken within 24 hours and the second 12 hours later. If the pills are taken exactly as directed, they prevent pregnancy 95% of the time. If taken any other way, the effectiveness can drop to as low as 58%. Take a home pregnancy test on the first day of your missed period.

Yes: I assume you mean a birth control pill. They may be started up to the fifth day of menstruation but keep in mind that the first cycle may not be pregnancy protected.

is it ok if i take the next pill a bit late from my usual schedule after the 7day break?

Not ok: In order for birth control to be effective they need to be taken exactly as directed ---one pill daily. After the 7 days break you restart the next pack regardless of if you are bleeding or not.

No uncommon: Emergency contraception does alter hormonal balance and can result on irregular bleeding. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time. You may consider implanted contraceptive or an IUD.

BTB: You can easily have breakthrough bleeding as a result of using emergency contraception.  It would be a dysfunctional type bleeding not a menstrual cycle.

No  connection: Women taking the mini pill will occasionally have bleeding episodes.  The episodes are random and the bleeding doesn't mean that you ovulated.  Best wishes!
