Menstrual pain ?'s: Sever pain with menstruation usually comes from endometriosis, which is spread of endometrial tissue through the lower abdomen and large intestine. Oral bcp's will diminish the pain, and arrest the increase in endometriosis if taken continuously for several packs. These "implants" of endometrial tissue inside the abdomen cause bleeding which is a strong irritatant intraperitoneally= pain.
