No: A stools color is generally due to the bile added to the poo as it travels through the digestive process. If it moves through quickly, it is more likely a shade of bilious green, slower a yellow & if it has time for gut bacteria to change it further it will be a brown. Baby poo is expected to range well within this green to brown color palate.

Blood in baby's poop: There are a variety of causes. If he/she is breastfeeding and mom has cracked nipples, baby can swallow blood and pass it through. If he/she is having constipation or bad diarrhea, the anus can end up with a small tear that can bleed. Very rarely, a baby can have a food allergy to milk or soy.  More rarely, a baby can have meckel's diverticulum - a side passage off the intestine. See your doctor!

Expectations: A normal newborn will commonly fuss to generate the power (with the breathing muscle) needed to push poop along since their belly muscles are so weak. That improves with age (months) but any kid with soft stools is not constipated. Your kid is likely just a normal &amp; the milk changes a waste of time.

Babies at a week should have yellowish poops with the thickness of mustard or thick spaghetti sauce. Breastfeeding babies can have even looser poops. Formula-fed babies have firmer poops, but poop that holds its shape would be too firm for the first few months of life. Pumped or direct breast milk helps too.
