i got contacts for the first time a few days ago & i updates my prescription for new glasses. when i switch from contacts to glasses, my glases makes me dizzy, nauseated & gives me headaches.

Adjustment: There is a time required to adjust to glasses , even after contact  lenses.

its been a week since i got new glasses with a stronger prescription.  i havenot gotten used to the change. i have dizzyness nausea and blurry vision?

Go back to Doctor: First have the doctor check that the prescription in the lenses is that same that they gave you. It is possible that the lens were not made properly. Second have them check that the lenses are mounted in the frames correctly. Finally if these are both fine , then have them redo the eye exam and check if they get the same result. Obviously something is not right.

i'm  wearing 3 yr. old prescription eyeglasses. i'm having dizziness, migraines, & lightheadedness almost everyday. do i need new eyeglasses?

Not necessarily: Your migraines msy be caused by a variety of different reasons from the food you eat to the lack of sleep you might undergo. A change in your eye prescription is not known to cause migraines.

can a "strong" glasses prescription cause long term dizziness?

Shouldn't: If the prescription is proper, then you should adapt quickly and dizziness should not occur.  If the dizziness persists then the glass might need upgrading.

NO: At its worst "eyestrain" can cause mild discomfort above the eyebrows.  See your doctor for evaluation.

i have been having pain in left eye daily plus my eye is sensitive on light for the last 3 years. it is because they made me prescription glasses wrongly, it was connected with headaches, dizziness and blurred or vision. can it be anisocoria, please?

: Possibly just presbyopia. Anisocoria refers to having pupils of different sizes, which can be a variant of normal, or can indicate serious disease, such as Horner's syndrome. Most mild ocular discomfort is related to dryness, but if you need a new prescription anyway, make an appointment with an optometrist or ophthalmologist who can sort out your symptoms by examining your eyes.

Eye problems usually do not cause nausea and dizziness.  You can get some dizziness from blurred vision i guess but the room should not spin.

Since all of these could be neurological symptoms you need to see a doctor if they persist or worsen.

Should NOT happen: First, see an ophthalmologist and get this addressed.  Your new glasses may have been designed improperly, but you may be experiencing changes in health, such as diabetes, or glaucoma, or cataracts.  Get this addressed ASAP.

Full time use: You  should wear them full time for at least a week.  If you are still having problems then return to the optician to see if they need an adjustment.  If the problem still persists go back to the prescriber to see if a prescription modification is warranted.

Not long: Dizziness and off balance should not be experienced for long after new glasses. Either something else is going on or the corrective prescriptive is incorrect.
