my son had slightly low neutrophil granulocytes 1,9 on 20th of march. week later he got cold, no fever. in 24th of april the test was redone but neutrophyles were again 1,9. all other blood values are normal. no other symptoms. can this be leukemia?

Unlikely: A neutrophil count of 1.9 is not critically low. If the boy does not have any other symptoms, e.g. fever, enlarged nodes, bleeding or unresolving infection, It is not leukemia. Leukemias usually have immature cells in the blood which would have been picked up in the process of counting neutrophils.

high anc 11,098. wbc 12,800. neutrophil count 76.8. granulocytes/ band 9.8. what does this mean? no infection present. lymp count 18.

See below: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, it would have helped to have the actual results. Why were the tests done? What symptoms do you have? It would require taking history, physical examination and may be more tests to settle the issue. Please see your doc.

platelet, neutrophil, lymphocyte, monocyte, eosinophil, basophil, & immature granulocytes are normal.  which cancers r ruled-out? all of them? why?

Leukemia: The short answer is that if your peripheral count is totally normal, it is unlikely that you have leukemia but, when you are talking about cancer in general, you are also referring to a multitude of solid organs from where cancers can originate like the lungs, liver, stomach, colon to list a few. There is no single blood test that can rule in or out all cancers.

leukocytosis since 2014. values always above 15, most recent being 20.39 wbc. 15.44 neutrophil #, 0.07 immature granulocytes, 1.36 monocyte #. bone marrow biopsy slight left shift and toxic granulation in neutrophils. still no answers. any help?

Total number: This is the number of neutrophils in a standard volume of your blood.  This count is lowish but probably not dangerous; your physician will want to keep an eye on it. If you're otherewise healthy i would not be concerned.

Probably not: If you have had recent infection a stress from another illness have been on certain needs or are a heavy smoker may just be normal for you.

TheTruthOnAbsolute : Percentages are relative numbers. You could have one billion neutrophils (elevated) but only 10% of total White Cells (low, %, based on normal ranges), but 10% of one billion is sky high. We are always looking at relative numbers and absolute numbers. Relative numbers like % can be manipulated in various ways, good and bad, but absolute numbers are the nitty-gritty.
