how is neulasta given to children under 45kg?  the syringe supplied is for 6mg and has no graduation marks on it.  so is it given by eyeballing it or by emptying the contents in a vial & then drawing required dose with another graduated syringe?

Of course O K: You have a great oncologist , wants best for you, chemotherapy drugs are strong kills the cancer cells also infection preventing WBC ( white blood cell)  resulting bad infections , Neulasta (pegfilgrastim) boosts WBC and prevents infection , speak o your oncologist give you additional information , for your good and expensive medication.

Some: Taxoter: peripheral neuropathy.
Cytoxan: hemorrhagic cystitis. Alos about 1% risk of secondary leukemias.
Neulasta: no one knows.
Generally speaking it depends on what are you treating and what are the alternatives. These two agents are crucial in the treatment of early breast cancer and are given before or after surgery as part of a regimen called ac-t.

Possibly: Neulasta (pegfilgrastim) is indicated to increase the peripheral neutrophil count and thereby decrease infection in febrile neutropenic patients with non-myeloid malignancies receiving myelosuppressive anti-cancer drugs associated with a clinically significant incidence of febrile neutropenia.

tx is bi-weekly with fu5 + avastin (bevacizumab). cea is reliable, tested at start of tx.  cea drops significantly with neulasta/neopogen tx following chemo.  why?

Unclear question: Cea dropping is due to chemotherapy. It is a good sign, indicates chemo is working. Neupogen/neulasta are given to increase white cell counts. These are probably unnecessary if you are only taking f-5-fu based chemo.

i'm 8 days out from round 1 of chemo, had a neulasta (pegfilgrastim) shot day 2, took claritin 2 days pre- through 3 days post- chemo, but now have severe bone pain?

Neulasta (pegfilgrastim): You don't mention what chemotherapy you are receiving, or why you are receiving it, however, Neulasta (pegfilgrastim) commonly causes bone pain for several days after it is injected. Talk to your oncologist or the nursing staff about this.

i have triple negative stage 3 breast cancer. ac followed by t. neulasta (pegfilgrastim) for ac....is it routine to continue neulasta (pegfilgrastim) for t treatments?

Neulasta (pegfilgrastim): For ac regimen dose dense (every 2 weeks, we recommend neulasta). After that i usually give Taxol (also called paclitaxel) weekly x 12 weeks and Neulasta (pegfilgrastim) is not used for weekly regimen. Some oncologists prefer Taxol every 3 weeks x 4 doses (big dose taxol),  than it can be used. Weekly regimen have robust data and is well tolerated and we can avoid side effects of Neulasta (pegfilgrastim) (which can be rough).
