Try applying vicks: Vaporub on your nose and cheeks, chew cough drops, sudafed may help. There is no connection between the right and left sinuses. Hope u feel better!

Rash: Depending if the person is of shaving age. It could be Tinea Barbae or folliculitis.  Does it itch, is it raised , drainage etc. someone would have to see a picture of it to determine exactly what it is.

Sinus Rinse : You likely introduced some air into the sinuses and middle ear during the treatment. There is a always a danger that you also introduced some bacteria or other infectious agent at the same time, but it sounds like you cleared some of the blockage and the treatment is working. If it doesn't seem to be improving after a few more days, you might want to check with an ENT specialist.
