There are many: Most people who are infected with the WNV have no symptoms. If they do develop symptoms the most common are fever, headache, body aches, nausea and vomiting. Fatigue and weakness can last for a few weeks after contracting the virus. Less than 1% of people will get meningitis or encephalitis, (inflammation of the brain and surrounding tissue), the most severe of the virus.
