That : That is abnormal to have bleeding for 8 days as well as having the excessive, unexpected, and long durations of bleeding.  Given your history, please have your gynecologists reevaluate you.  There is also a possibility that you might need a different type of birth control pill.  If you develop increased bleeding, feel light-headed/faint, or have pain then you would need to be seen as an emergency.

Stress: There are issues of absorption or endocrine problems that can do it.  Do u sleep well at night?  Rate your stress on a scale of 1-10, 10 the worst.  Depression can sometimes do it.  A good medicine, if this is the case, is mirtazapine; it helps weight, sleep and anxiety( over time).  There may be more to it like hyperthyroidism, malabsorption, other endocrine problem,  but usually anxiety at ur ag.

Dose may differ: With bc, original name is protected by a patent for a period of time.When that patent runs out, another drug company  can make that same medicine with the same basic ingredients, but a different name.This is called a "generic" drug. The fda assumes that this medicine works the same, but blood levels may vary.  Both necon&nortrel come in different doses e.g. 7/7/7 or 1/35--so Necon 1/35=nortrel 1/35.

Normal adjustment: When on oral contraception, it's not unusual to have brownish discharge or even spotting as the uterus adjusts to the hormones in the pill. This is called breakthrough bleed and should resolve with time. Keep on your regimine, don't skip pills and try to take the pills the same time each day. That will help provide a more stable environment for your uterus.

Yes or No: Certainly pregnancy could be  a possibility.  It also could just simply be due to the change of your BCP.  It would be most reasonable to get an OTC pregnancy test.  If negative, continue with BCPs as directed.

Many women who start: oral contraceptives may have highly irregular periods for a while, including heavy periods.  Please do not worry--call your pcp or the clinic who prescribed your contraceptive for follow-up.

Cramping: Pelvic pain is complex as there are several organs in the pelvis. The ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix, bladder, appendix, intestines, colon and rectum can all be the source. Pelvic pain requires and examination to help organize the evaluation.

whats adenomyosis, what exactly is fibroids? how are these things treated? my gyno put me on necon 1/32 consecutively to stop cyst growth, so now what?

Adenomyosis: Adenomyosis is when tissue just like the uterine lining grows into the wall of the uterus. Fibroids are smooth muscle tumors that grow in the wall of the uterus. Both conditions are common and can cause bleeding abnormalities, pain and other gyn issues. Ultrasound can tell more about these problems.
