See surgeon: Pain after surgery can occur.  It is best to have a follow up appointment with the surgeon who performed your surgery.  You might need physical therapy.  Sometimes after an injury, you use muscles in different ways and they can be become sore.  Physical therapy will help you to "re-train" your muscles so that they are being used correctly.

i  am 33female 5'5, very bad  neck pain my c 6& c7 disk is deteriateing what can be done? is surgery an options? already had 3 injections no help pain

Options: Typically, with cervical spondylosis, the treatment algorithm is physical therapy, followed by epidural injections, then, finally surgery, which would include an anterior cervical decompression and fusion. This is a complicated situation because you are young and adjacent level disease could be an issue. Hold off on surgery as long as possible. Don't operate for neck pain, but arm/hand symptoms.

No: Absolutely not ! if you are told by the first doctor you see that you need surgery, get a second opinion. As a matter of fact, any time you are told that you need neck or back surgery, get a second opinion.

Discuss with MD: I would definitely contact my surgeon to determine if any loss of stabilization occurred but in all likelihood it is not a major concern unless associated with other neurological deficits.

See below: Unfortunately there is no "one size fits all" approach that i can give you here. My advice would be to see a physiatrist specializing in spine problems to help you figure out a program that works for you.

Try alternatives: Before trying to do surgery i would recommend seeing a chiropractor and if that doesn't work try doing yoga. I would try all of your alternatives before doing surgery.

Not really: While it could just be some muscle discomfort if you were on the or table for a while, typically i would say no.  You should let your surgeon know so that he might be able to check on you.  Seek immediate attention for fever &gt;101 and rapid heart rate.

Yes: It may take a while for symptoms to resolve. Sometimes, dizziness maybe unrelated.

last year i had chiari malformation surgery, which helped but recently i've been getting very sick, and also have bad neck pain. are they related?

Possible : Probably you should first discuss your issues with the surgeon who did your Chiari surgery. You need to see your physician for an evaluation to be certain there are not other medical problems that may be playing a role here
