i am a 35year old woman struggling with acne i have went for facial peels that assisted with dark marks and now the acne is coming back again on my neck and my chicks some on my chest and back. what can be recommended to clear them?

Acne: It is possible your problem can be improved with a bout of doxycycline. It is often seen that adult onset acne can successfully be treated with this antibiotic. See your local family doctor.

Hyperpigmentation: You need to see a dermatologist who can make a recommendation for the treatment.  The post acne pigmentation can be treated with  peels, topical bleaching agents, topical antioxidants and more importantly, treatment for the acne.  The other issue may respond to a moisturizer called LacHydrin (lactic acid) or AmLactin.  Additionally it may be a sign of hormone issues, especially if you are overweight.

skinny arms & legs w/ weak muscles, puffy round face, very large abdomen, stretch marks, buffalo hump back of neck, acne, hirturism. normal cortisol levels. what else than cushing's can cause this change in appearance in 30 yo woman. thank you?

: Cushing's is very rare.  Women that look like you but dont have Cushing's are not. But easy to test for in your saliva. Discuss with your Dr. Before that I would look at pictures of all women in you family tree at your age to see if this "look" tends to run in your family.  Your local practitioner can order the salivary cortisol test usually at 11 PM as this is when cortisol is the lowest.

what tests are done to see if acne is hormonal? testosterone level is low, no thyroid problems, but acne is adult onset and severe. i'm thin, female.

Have you: Have you had  dheas level also?  May be you should stop and see if it clears. This happens sometime.

i have cystic acne,i am 22year female.hormone therapy is not working,i have under active thyroid and take medicine.plz suggest me a topical treatment?

I would recommend: that you speak to your own doctor and/or a dermatologist. It is unlikely that an over-the-counter topical medication will work for cystic acne, especially if the hormonal therapy isn't helping. The dermatologist should be able to help you.

Consult with your Dr: It is best to get a great diagnosis from your dermatologist first. There are many prescription and over the counter products to choose from. You may want to get a nice hypoallergenic cleanser like the skin clear wash from cosmo grade. Always consult with your dr. Or pharmacist prior to initiating new medications.

Hard to say: If there is redness and bumps that are not pimples, you may be allergic to something you are using on the skin.  Try eliminating perfumes/dyes in lotions, soaps, and laundry detergent.  Using a good moisturizer that is free of perfumes/dyes can be helpful.  Even unrefined coconut oil can be helpful.  See your doctor if this continues to bother you.

Yes: In the newborn, because of the hormones during fetal life and if a mom is nursing, the infant will have "infantile acne" which looks just like a teenager with zits.
