It has lots of ways it can effect you and many times it is hard to diagnose because it is so vague. If you think you have it, eventually you will need to have a doctor take of piece of tissue (called a biopsy) from a spot they think is crohn's to send to the lab and know for sure.

Pristine: Crohn's disease is very complex and in my experience responds to vitamin therapy. However they need to be given i/v and few docs do that. Avoid milk and all the "junk" foods.

Growth/GERD control: The formula intake should be sufficient to promote normal growth and development. If the baby has reflux, frequent spit ups, discuss treatment and GERD precaution measures with your pediatrician. Feed at least at a 30 degree angle and avoid feeding supine. A flu vaccination for household members and a vaccination for the baby at 6 months of age or older is recommended.

Crohn's diet ?: When your crohn's disease is inactive, there are few dietary restrictions needed. When flaring however, the location of crohn's activity determines diet modification. If in the small bowel, consider cutting back on lactose & fatty foods, & add supplements to make up for vitamin & mineral malabsorptions. If colonic crohn's, avoid gut stimulants like caffeine, minimize alcohol, maybe add probiotics.
