Nausea: after drinking water.  Please see your doctor to make sure all is well medically.  Then approach this as an experiment.  Drink some water at various temps., warm, cold, room temp, etc. and see how you respond to that.  Drink at different times of day and see how that feels.  Drink w/food and w/out. Gastric acid reflux: Hello Carla,

The most common cause of the symptoms you describe is gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), commonly  known as heart burn. Consider trying over the counter ranitidine, omeprazole, Tums (calcium carbonate) or Maalox. Avoid foods that worsen your symptoms.
Pregnancy could also cause similar symptoms, so make sure you take a pregnancy test.
If these measures don't help, see your primary care for testing.

unexpectedly, the last few days, i have felt quite nauseous and have vomited twice . today, i received a boil-water advisory warning that there was e. coli in my neighborhood's drinking water. what should i do w regard to my nausea?

: You can try kaopeptate or Pepto Bismol OTC if not relieved pl see your MD. hope you feel better

: Your statement implies that you are always nauseated. If so that is a more important issue than it getting worse on drinking water.
It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see a doctor.

If u have stomach: Irritation from skipping meals or not eating regularly, yes it may cause nausea. Avoid intake of caffeine, soda, orange juice , spicy food etc. Follow up with your dr.

Not normal: Nausea may be gi-related (food poisoning, peptic disease, gastroparesis, due to biliary ; pancreatic disease, gas/bloat syndrome, small bowel problems). Consider "central" causes: motion sickness, vertigo, migraine headache, brain problems (some very serious). Also, rule out infection (? Urinary tract), medication side effects, pregnancy, ; even reaction to stress. Find ; treat the cause--see doc.

is it possible that drinking a lot of sparkling mineral water can be causing my chronic nausea? there seems to be a direct link between me drinking it and the nausea increasing. why would this happen if so? thank you for your help?

: It is not likely that sparkling water is causing your nausea, but can definitely worsen it by increasing acidity and reflux. In order to sort it out switching to still water for few weeks may give you a better sense of what the effect of sparkling water was on your nausea.

my left kidney hurts often and my right one hurts from time to time.i dont drink alot of water and my mum thinks thats the reason.i never felt nauseas?

Need an exam: Your back pain may or may not be from your kidneys. Lack of hydration doesn't cause kidney pain. Pain is your bodies way of telling you that something is wrong. Best to listen to it and see a physician to find out what the problem is. Hopefully you will find out it's nothing serious. Get well soon.

Not likely : Water does not usually cause any side effects on people . I have yet to meet anyone allergic to water. You are 34 , have always had this problem? If you are drinking Water and it is causing this problem then perhaps you should change the source of your drinking water.  Contaminated water can cause that . If the problem persists then you need to see your doctor as the problem may not be the water.

i have constant nausea coupled with dark urine no meter how much water i drink. going on 2 months now. tired all the time. thoughts?

Dark urine, nausea: Go to a doctor and get a blood sample sent off to see if you have hepatitis as well as a urine analysis to see if you have bilirubin in it. If you do have hepatitis, you will get the answer and a treatment plan from the tests i suggested you have done. Good luck.
