i've made a phlegmy throat for a while now and i've noticed a bitter taste at the back of my throat after drinking water. could the two be related?

Maybe: New throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from another cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the throat symptom is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to check for strep throat). The doctor can also look for a sinus infection.

my partner and i have developed mild nose congestion and phlegmy throats. we are concerned as we are meant to be in the office. should we get tested for covid?

Safest to test: These symptoms can be due to allergies or routine upper respiratory infections, but because transmission of Covid is so common, it is probably safest to test for Covid before being around coworkers in an office (although testing is not 100% accurate)

: It may be an onset of a viral infection unless you also have allergy. To limit the extent you could gargle with like salt water or antiseptic mouth wash, increase your fluid intake and improve your immunity by adequate rest and good nutriton including vitamin supplements.

my throat is so phlegmy i can't sleep please help?

Hydrate well w water: Neti pots can help. Mix ¼ tsp salt w 1 cup lukewarm water. More salt can also be used. Place solution in neti pot.  Tilt head & pour solution into 1 nostril. Blow nose lightly & spit out any liquid that drains into throat. Repeat on other side. This can be done in the evening before you go to bed & again in the morning.  Also consider gargling with warm salt water. Use humidifier.

i get sick very easily and always feel like im catching something. throat usually hurts on left side (bearable) +phlegmy. always tired too. ?

How long: have you felt this way? Infectious Mononucleosis can present the way you are describing! A simple blood test will make that diagnosis likely.

i have coffee + milk every morning. lately, i've noticed that if i have two cups, my throat feels a little phlegmy and strange -- could i be lactose?

Maybe: Symptoms of lactose intolerance are generally cramping/bloating of the abdomen, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and gas.  They are highest in ethnic groups and lowest in caucasians.  A simple test from a doctor can reveal if you are truly lactose intolerant or not.  All the best!

Throat lozenges and Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin can help lessen pain.

i have a 13 month old who has bronchitis.  it started as a red throat and then a week after, she had a very strong phlegmy cough. what can i do?

13mths old bronchiti: Have you taken the baby to the pediatrician.If not you should have the baby checked.Most of the time this kind of symptoms are caused by viruses and there is no need for antibiotics. If the baby is wheezing, then may need bronchdilaters via nebuliser, and if there is coexisting ear or throat infection and fever  sometime antibiotics are prescribed.Cogh medicines are not helpful and should not be use.
