sinus damage during extraction of upper molars. oral surgeon stitched it up. 2 weeks into recovery. still get subtle bleeding as post nasal drip. should i be worried? how long till i am better?

Bleeding s/p surgery: Would call the doctor to be seen or get a second opinion. Please be evaluated for late infection  as  subtle bleeding  may be a sign of infectio and need for antibiotics  or wound dehiscence ( non closure) .  By 2 weeks normally one is  asymptomatic  and healing just continues along.

have nosebleed in left nostril 1-2 a week now, 3-4 times this week. not gushing but bleeding. i do have clear & thick sticky white mucus with bad post nasal drip., worried about worse case outcomes. ideas on what it could be?

Accepted Answer

: You may need a cauterization of the nasal membrane bleeding site. Spray your nostrils with nasal ocean spray  daily.  Sometimes applying a tiny amount of white vaseline to the nasal membranes each night can prevent those nose bleeds. See an ENT specialist as needed.

i was intoxicated, long story short got hit in the head with a tennis ball at lake, split my head open bleed for over and hour, iced my head and stopped bleeding today woke up with no smell and taste with constant nasal drip and burning in my nose?

Post-trauma: Please seek immediate examination by your General Practitioner or Urgent t Care. Referral to a neurologist maybe advisable.

Dry nose: Nasal dryness can result in nosebleeds or spotting, usually at the middle partition of the nose called the septum. If the problem is dryness, the solution is moisture. Lots of it. Saline sprays, humidifier use, saline-based gels, and adequate hydration are all very useful.

is it normal for someones nose to bleed almost every day? my husband is 24 and gets nosebleeds almost everyday and he gets them for no reason without even touching his nose itll start bleeding and he will let the blood drip till it stops which is usually

It : It is certainly not normal to have nosebleeds daily.  Most nosebleeding situations should resolve with a few days unless there are other underlying problems.

Some of these predisposing conditions include deficiency of clotting factors, high blood pressure resulting in rupture of the vessels, trauma to the nasal membranes, sinus disease, vascular lesions, or rarely tumors of the nasal passages.

Your husband's condition should be evaluated by an ENT specialist promptly.  Besides treating any underlying condition, prolonged bleeding can lead to anemia which can then lead to other complications.

fever and drip in throat after concussion no raccoon or bleeding in ears or nose went to doc but now fever and drip should i worry? post con symps?

Possible concussion: sxs: + or – loss of consciousness, headache / pressure, can't recall event, dizziness, v coordination, ringing in ears, confusion, slurred speech, nausea / vomiting &amp; fatigue. For concussion seek medical care. Seek urgent treatment for loss of consciousness, on-going confusion, seizures, unequal pupils, recurrent vomiting, change in level of consciousness, loss of balance or difficulty walking.

my breath has smelt acidy the past 2 days.cause? how do i fix it? i have gerd, post nasal  drip. recently gums bleed when brushing. crown 1month ago

Reduce acid: You need a acid reducer or controller to reduce the acid production . Do note that reflux may cause gum and dental problem as well.  Have you talked to your doctor yet?

Not usually: Nose bleeds in babies may be from using the bulb syringe to suction the nose too vigorously. It can irritate the membranes and cause bleeding. Babies or infants can pick their nose and create the same problem.

See an ENT physician: Impossible to say without examining the nose.  See an otolaryngologist (ENT) soon, who will perform an evaluation.  Bleeding may come from local problems in the nose or from blood disorders.

Irritated nose: Its likely that a person getting minor nosebleeds in the context of a cold has irritated their nasal passage with nose blowing and rough tissues.  Going easy on this and using a saline nasal spray can help.  Coughing up blood, bleeding that comes from the back of the nose, or that doesn't stop easily is more serious and should be evaluated by a physician.
