Any?: There is no real answer to this question. It depends on the sensitivity of the lab. Unlike urine tests that have established cutoff values, hair and nails do not. They are limit of detection tests, which means that any amount found is positive. They have to collect the nail from the right location (depends on the growth rate of the nail) then liquify it and pass it through a mass spectrophotometer.

Yes, but at much : Lower  levels than in the urine of active smokers. Besides nicotine and its metabolites, there are other markers of tobacco use like anabasine, present in tobacco products, but not in  nicotine replacement therapies & nornicotine, in tobacco products & as a metabolite of nicotine. So, if you smoke while on nicotine replacement, claiming it was passive smoking won't fly. Sorry.

Urine test: Probably not.  Test your hair, it's possible.

Not due to a hand: The hand should fear the penis, and not the penis fear the hand. It is hard for the penis to catch an STD from the hand. That's because hands don't tend to have STD's, and masseuses wash their hands often, sometimes use hand sanitizer between clients, and usually have their hands coated with massage oil... all making the hands pretty safe. Penises, on the other hand, are a natural source of STD's.

Variable: Rashes, joint pain, lab changes, fever, hair loss, abnormal labs, just feeling terrible. No two cases are alike, some are mild and some severe. Lupus is much more manageable nowadays than in the past. Good luck.

Positive Labs: Positive labs are meaningless unless you have symptoms. At this point, your doctor is aware of the positive results and will likely follow your symptoms. The positive simply means you are at a greater chance of developing symptoms though not everybody does.

Lab numbers: These numbers don't show changes at joints and with most auto immune disorders, you may have periods of pain and increased lab numbers, usually related to stress in your life, and once treated medically or with stress reduction, pain/lab should improve.  May want xray of one of involved joints just inflamed which can return to baseline.

There are several: It depends on her precise age, but in general these include pap smears and mammograms to screen for cervical and breast cancer, stool checks or colonoscopies to screen for colon cancer, screens for high bp, depression, alcohol abuse and possibly high cholesterol or blood sugar, obesity, osteoporosis and unhealthy lifestyle behaviors.
