Slightly increased: Since sperm with X chromosomes survive longer but sperm with Y chromosomes swim faster, it is slightly more likely that a baby will be male if sex is at or just after ovulation and slightly more likely that the baby will be female if sex is a day or two before ovulation. Ultrasound : If you're asking whether it is possible to ascertain the gender of the baby from fetal heart rate, it is not possible. This would require an ultrasound which, at 22 weeks, can usually show gender.  If you're asking whether 134 bpm is a safe or normal heart rate for a 22 week fetus, the answer is yes. 110-170 is a normal range at that age. These questions can be answered during her next OB visit!

No, but...: NO... because in real life, clothing prevents pregnancy by preventing the passage of sperm, of penises, and of fingers. If not wanting to start a family, one can just keep his and her clothing on. It works quite well. However, if asking "is it possible to happen," the answer to the question, "is there any possibility..." that something can happen somewhere in this world, is almost always YES.

Not a myth: Any test using immunoassay technology can be subject to hook effect. If your doctor suspects hook effect for any test s/he can ask the lab to dilute the specimen.

Yes it's a myth: Calcium is important for you. The baby will take what it needs from your teeth and bones and if you don't get enough you will risk dental problems and thinning of your bones. It really doesn't make a difference for the baby's skin. Almost all newborns have extremely soft skin.

Unknown: I think those are just anecdotal tales form your friends, as there is no scientific research that confirms any correlation as suggested.

No: Weightlifting does not cause a big belly. Working out with weights more likely gives one a more muscular, smaller belly.
