Reasons for missed/late periods: low body weight, obesity, marked weight ^ or v, over-exercise, endurance athletics, breast-feeding, ^ stress, illness, eating disorders (bulimia or anorexia), anovulatory cycle (no egg released), travel, hormone irregularities, drug use, meds (i.e., birth control) or medical problems (i.e. PCOS). #1 reason is pregnancy.

Anovulation: is a possibility. Are you on birth control? Women can miss periods on birth control. If it continues consult your GYN.

See your doctor: If you did the test correctly and it was negative at 15 days after the due date of your period, you are not pregnant. To make sure, you may wish to see your doctor for a blood test and/or ultrasound test.

Trust the test: A pregnancy test can detect a bhcg of about 20. Your bhcg roughly doubles every 48 hours. Let's say the first day you took it you were barely pregnant with a level of 19. 48 hours later your bhcg would be 38 which is way above the level for a urine pregnancy test to detect it. Home tests work really well and can be trusted. Repeat and if negative then you are not pregnant.

Unlikely: It sounds like you experienced an "anovulatory" cycle.  When ovulation occurs, your cycle predictably happens about 14 days later.  When it does not occur or is delayed, then you get a delay in your period, irregular bleeding and negative pregnancy tests.  This can all be confusing.  This should be discussed with your ob/gyn.

Not pregnant: It is unlikely you are pregnant given you waited to test until you missed your period.  Stress can delay or interrupt a period.

Happen alot?: You will need to see your obgyn for an exam and testing. Depending on your age and fertility plans there are lots of treatment options. Birth control pills can regulate your cycle. Mirena (levonorgestrel) iuds can minimize your periods. The vaginal discharge will need to be evaluate by your doctor if it persists.

Probably OK: He probably figures once the cyst goes away you will bleed. Does not want to give you Provera (medroxyprogesterone) if you could be Pregnant.

Pregnant ?'s: Home pregnancy testing when expected onset of period is "3 days late" may not be accurate.  There are many reasons for delays in onset of menstruation by earlier delays in ovulation.  Wait another week, and obtain a serum HCG test to be certain.  Ask your gyn physician about low dose oral bcp's for contraception.

Didn't ovulate : If you have one off month, you could have just not ovulated...Stress, weight change, and illness can all cause this as an isolated occurrence. But if your cycle is often irregular, you should see a doctor for a more comprehensive evaluation, especially if you want to conceive in the near future.
