It will bet better : As long as it is not your achilles tendon that ruptured  you should be ok 
 the treatment for plantaris  tendon rupt is mostly benign neglect 

it will take several weeks for it to get better.

Bakers cyst: It sounds like you have a baker's cyst. It is a benign swelling which is a marker of inflammation within the knee. I would see an orthopedic surgeon who can figure out what is causing the inflammation/swelling in your knee. If that is treated successfully, the baker's cyst, and the associated pain, will likely go away. Good luck.

Get Xray: It is most likely arthritis. You should go to doc to have an xray done. There are other causes such as meniscal and acl/pcl damage which shows up on an mri.

Multiple reasons: Many pathologies can cause knee pain with knee flexion.  Without more info and an exam, it is difficult to give a firm diagnosis.  If pain is severe, you should be evaluated by your primary care physician or orthopaedic surgeon.

Ice the knee.: You can apply ice packs to the knee, 20 minutes at a time, 3-4 times per day. If you can take an over the counter anti-inflammatory medication, that would help as well. If you're no better in  a week or so, then you should see an orthopedic knee specialist for further assessment.

No: Sore muscles are normal but knee pain is not. Usually it's a meniscus issue but get it looked at if it persists or gets worse

Meniscal tears: You seem to have some of the signs of a meniscus issue.Some meniscal tears occur w/ acute injury; some as degenerative changes (over time). Common symptoms include pain, swelling, clicking/ popping, locking/ catching, giving way, and/ or limited range of motion. It may be a wise decision to see an orthopedist to evaluate your knee. Not seeking help!: Knee pain can be for many reasons, with the most common being osteoarthritis, a condition that is to many other inflammatory conditions.  A smart doctor will know this & screen you for other chronic disabling diseases.  See your dr!
in the meantime, pain is nature's splint.  It is telling you something is wrong.Most important thing is not to make it worse. Little or weight on it, get a diagnosis!

See your doctor: You could have a host of issues that could cause your knee pain, could be bursitis, tendonitis, arthritis, ligament issues, meniscal injury, sciatica etc.  So you may want to see an orthopedic pain specialist that can tell you what is going and help you with the latest treatments or exercise therapies available.

Have it checked out: There are lots of causes of knee pain.  If your knee hurts and it hasn't gotten better in 2-3 weeks your should see your primary care provider or an orthopedist for an evaluation.  They can listen to your symptoms, examine your knee, and determine if any other testing (xrays, mri, etc.) may be needed.
