Vasodilation: The outer ear or pinna has a rich blood supply and sometimes, the nerves that dilate (expand) those blood vessels (branches of the vagus nerve) become activated and the blood vessels dilate and give a red color to the pinna and a warm feeling.  It is of no clinical significance.

Vasodilation: This type of flushing is caused by dilation of the tiny blood vessels in those regions. Heat, spices, embarrassment are some precipitating factors. If these flushing reactions are frequent, severe, and provoked by unknown factors, consult an endocrinologist who will check you for certain conditions like carcinoid,pheocytoma,etc.

Doctors can evaluate for a medical problem in which "vasoactive" chemicals are flowing in the blood.

Immune system driven: Isolated area of redness and swelling in the face may occur as a result of a dysregulation of your immune system. it can also occur due to infection or obstruction of  a blood or lymphatic vessels. Causes include emotional factors, blood pressure and temperature elevation, chemicals in food,alcohol and certain hormonal secretions. If very frequent flushing reactions occur which are unexplained by these factors, certain endocrine disorders like carcinoid or pheochromocytoma tumors are suspected.

Vasodilatation: While it is impossible to make the exact diagnosis, it is most likely an effect of alcohol causing opening up or widening temporarily of the facial blood vessels. This type of flushing can be only a temporary event, and should not be of concern and less you see the blood vessels remaining for an extended time.see a dermatologist!

Overheated: If your room is too warm, your body temperature may be driven up without the regulatory mechanism of vasodilation, which often occurs at the cheeks and ears, allowing heat to be emitted out of the body, thereby keeping your internal body temperature normal. As the night progresses and you move into a restful sleep, the body temperature falls, so the blood vessels would no longer be dilated.

Red hot ears: This is not something with which I am familiar over a 2 week period.

I would have your doctor refer you to an Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor.
