Only if u have STD: Being on your period has nothing to do with the issue of std transmission. If you have an std you can pass it to him. If you do not have an std you can not pass one to him. Many people prefer not to have intercourse during menstruation but there it does not increase the risk of infection and it is not a hazard to your health or his.

Hummmmmm….: There is no way to tell you if you have an STD without actually testing you. The "symptoms" you describe in your question (weight gain, irregular periods) are nonspecific. My best advice is: If you think it's possible then you need to get checked. Go to your doctor, find a free clinic, whatever you need to do, but get checked.

Hep C can be an STD: The most common way Hepatitis C is spread is by sharing needles with someone who has hepatitis C.  But you can also get it by having sex with someone who has it.   You are at some risk of acquiring this infection anytime you have sex with someone who has hepatitis C.  This risk can be lowered (but not to zero) by wearing condoms.  Other methods of contraception offer little protection. Best wishes

Yes: Testing for STDs can be done while on your period. Some are done on blood drawn from your arm and others on urine or cervical swabs but bleeding does not prevent any of the testing.The only way to know why a physician would want to just do an exam and no blood or urine tests would be to ask that physician. Sorry I can't tell u what the other doctor was thinking. It may have been done to save money

Irregular menses: Many things can cause your regular cycles to become irregular: Stress, illness, weight changes, thyroid problems, medications. It is recommended that you follow-up with your gynecologist for thorough evaluation of you irregular periods to rule out anything serious.

One way to find out: An examination of the cervix by an experienced gyn doctor is perhaps the best way to learn cause. That would involve a typical evaluation by inserting a speculum to look at the vagina and cervix and possibly using a colposcope to enhance visualization. Sometimes inflamed areas or lesions can bleed after intercourse or even an exam like the above. If recurrent or heavy, eg, call gyn or office rn.

Trust the test: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate. They are the same tests used in a doctor's office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period.  If you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection.

Normal variation.: It is not uncommon for a woman's menstrual cycle to vary from month to month, or skip a month entirely. Stressors can cause your body to skip a cycle, such as severe illness, extreme exercise regimens, being radically underweight (i.e. Anorexia nervosa), or high amounts of emotional stress. If you are concerned, see an ob/gyn doctor who can run tests and check for any problems.

Not an STD: No STD can cause burning or any other symptoms in 2 hours. It always takes 2-3 days minimum. And no STD causes a "burning" sensation on the skin. Something that quick has to be a chemical irritation, allergy, or something similar. Maybe due to a vaginal perfume or deodorant? Spermicide?
